Wroclav, Poland – The 4th edition of CloudEARTHi conference connects academics with businesses, public bodies and NGOs in order to explore how environmental sciences, sustainability, circular economy, and the application of Deep Tech in business contexts can benefit society. The conference is organised within the SEEDplus project, funded by the European Union. Some sessions and side events are funded by the Inspiring The Minds project, Erasmus+, EIT RawMaterials through the EIT HEI initiative, the CloudEARTHi initiative, and the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.
The event took place from June 9th to June 11th, 2025, at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland.
During the conference a presentation entitled “EfxINNOS – an advanced approach to seagrass meadows preservation” authored by assoc. prof. Galina Ilieva and assoc. prof. Hristo Nenov, members of the Technical University of Varna EfxINNOs project team, was presented. The material aimed to discuss for the broad audithory the EfxINNOs project – its main aim and ideas, expected results by putting an accent on the pivotal role of seagrass in mitigating climate change by sequestering substantial amounts of carbon dioxide and supporting marine biodiversity by serving as breeding grounds, nurseries, and habitats for a multitude of marine species.
The audience gathered students, researchers from various universities, representatives from NGOs, business and industry, etc. All were interested in main objectives and expected results of EfxINNOS project. The given presentation led to discussions on the ecological challenges facing seagrass ecosystems, creation of cost-effective monitoring system that directly contributes to the preservation and restoration of vital seagrass habitats, etc.
